I have a cousin named Tracy.
He’s about ten years younger than I. I’ve known him since the day he was born, and known him quite well since he grew up on the same street that I did, two houses down.
He’s a guy I always look forward to seeing and love joking around with. He’s got a great sense of humor. You might have seen some of his comments on this blog before.
Well, it turns out that he was traveling in the Sichuan province with some friends during the time of the Chinese earthquake. Not only that, but he was traveling somewhat close to the epicenter.
No one in our family has heard from him since. Email updates from my aunt and uncle have given us reason to be hopeful, but it’s also easy to worry reading the reports of people buried in the rubble and frenzied rescue efforts.
Hopefully Tracy will be found soon, and sometime after that our family will have the best reunion ever.
Without getting overly sentimental or philosophic, let me simply say that now we have an opportunity to help the victims of tragedy. Below are some ways to donate and help out with both the Chinese earthquake and Myanmar cyclone relief.
The link below will bring you to a Chinese earthquake donation guide. Some of you might be most comfortable donating to the American Red Cross, and that is one of the options listed.

Praying for Tracy and his friends… He is such a nice boy. He’ll be fine.
As for donation, if the red cross websites are slow. Try this out:

I used it and it took me five minutes via Google Checkout. The fund will go to China red cross. Many friends of mine go the same way.
