It’s Me

November 10th, 2008 · 4 Comments · Memoirs

It used to be that my life revolved around waking up, working all day and being stressed out about it. Everything I wrote, whether it was a blog or a poem or a short story, was in some way a reaction to that.

But now things have changed and it’s weird. It’s like I was under the influence of a controlled substance for a few years and now suddenly am not. The way I write, and what I want to write about is now different. Not totally different, but a little bit.

The first month of being unemployed I got drunk and high a lot. But I stopped doing that so much. I also generally eat healthy and have been going to the gym regularly. In addition, I’m in the habit of going to bookstores and libraries and spending a lot of time reading and writing. I do this while the general populace is at work. When the general populace is not at work, I spend time with them. I try to think of others, do for others, and learn from others.

Generally, I pay attention. Even if I’m just spreading some mayonnaise on a piece of bread.

That’s my life right now.

It’s good to know that someone is paying attention to things and that if they find something interesting or thought provoking about, say spreading some mayo, that I’ll know about it too.
