Is that a normal conversation? I ask that question a lot down here. Now that is crazy. I say that a lot down here.
Like yesterday. I walked down the steps. I live on the third story of a not complex apartment complex. It’s three stories total. One long staircase leads from my doorway to the bottom floor. There is a landing on the second floor.
I exited my front door. I walked down the steps. On the bottom floor a skinny woman smoked a cigarette. Her pit bull was sitting nearby. Above her on the balcony a guy pointed his hand at her. It was as if he was holding a gun. His finger was curled around the imaginary trigger. The woman on the bottom floor didn’t see him.
I kept walking.
Then the woman looked up and saw the man. And the man said one word.
“MURDER!”
And the woman laughed.
And the man kept talking.
“Murdered! You got murdered.”
And the woman talked.
“Yeah, that’s true. And I didn’t even see you.”
“That’s right. You didn’t see me. I was like BOOM and,” the man pointed his invisible gun at the pit bull, “BOOM! Got you, and I got the dog. You both dead.”
Is that a normal conversation? That’s what I asked.
Then a few blocks away I walked past a church. It’s on Third and something. Third and Pacific I think. No that’s wrong. It’s on Third and… Third and… Third and the street in between Chestnut and Pacific.
One senior citizen was yelling in front of it. Some other people were near him.
“AND THAT GUY IS CRAZY. SOMETIMES HE IS OK. I MEAN YOU TALK TO HIM HE IS FINE FOR A WHILE. BUT HE’S AN ACTOR. HE SWITCHES. I WAS TALKING TO HIM AND THEN HE GOES, ‘OK I’M GOING TO COUNT TO THREE AND KILL YOU.’ AND DUDE SAID, ‘OK WHATEVER.’ AND THEN HE GOES ‘ONE, TWO… THREE’ AND BOOM! HE DID IT! SHOT HIM IN THE HEAD!”
Now that is crazy. That’s what I said.
