Contact us immediately.
It’s been over two years since you’ve accessed your ING DIRECT account(s). As a rule of thumb, it’s best to contact your bank at least once a year to verify that all your information is up to date and that no security issues have come up.
…
If you do not sign in to ingdirect.com or call us within 30 days from the date of this notice, we will assess a $25 charge to your Orange Savings Account. If the balance in your account is less than $25, the remaining funds will be applied to the charge and your account will be closed.
Remember, your account will NOT be charged if you sign in or contact us within 30 days. If you have any questions, you can call to speak to an Associate at 1-888-464-0727 from 8 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week.

Thanks,

That’s a clever way to clean out the funds of any customers that have forgotten about their accounts or have just been neglecting them (as I have). I just received one of these too because I have a trivial amount left in my ING account. Tricky bastards.

Wow..that is stupid. If you had less than $25 in there do they charge you an overdraft fee?

That is one of the stupidest emails you ever got? That’s nearly urgent poetry compared to some of the crap I’ve seen. I guess, to each his stupid own…or her own.
Easy example from my emails:
Dear Friend,
How are you and your family ? I hope fine, May the peace of God be upon you and your family. Do accept my sincere apologies, if my mail does not meet your personal ethics.
By introduction, I am the Bill and Exchange manager in one of the reputable financial institutions here in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso “Bank Of Africa”.
I would love to build up a solid foundation with you in the time coming, if you can be able to help me in this business transaction.
Please, read very carefully and listen to me, a generous customer of our bank died on July 2003 in a Kenya plane crash, and this deceased customer to our bank left the Sum worth of Twenty-Five Million, Five Hundred thousand United State Dollars. ($25.5M) in his account with our bank.
You can visit the website below for more informations about the Plane Crash and the tragic death of the deceased and his entire family,
Late DR. GEORGE BRUMLEY.

I Hoped that you will not expose or betray this trust and confident that I am about to repose on you for the mutual benefit of our both and families. I need your urgent assistance in transfering this above mentioned sum into your bank account or you would come here in this bank for cash paying into your hands.
I don’t want the money to go into our Bank treasury as an abandoned fund. Since our bank could not locate any of his nearest person to inherit this money. So this is the reason why I contacted you, so that with me giving you all his information(s) so that our bank can release the money to you as the nearest person to the deceased customer.
Please I would want you to keep this proposal as a top secret and delete if you are not interested.
Upon receipt of your reply, I will send you full details on how the business will be executed. If you are willing to assist me, kindly reply me with this email address – ( kadel_ouamaru1@yahoo.com ) and together with these informations-
Name…..
Surname…..
Full residential address……
Occupation…….
Age……

Justin – Seriously.
thebaglady – Nope, they don’t charge an overdraft fee. I almost withdrew all funds except one penny just for the fun of it. Then I decided doing that wasn’t particularly fun.
Allen – Dang dude. Get your own blog. Also, your emails don’t count because they aren’t addressed to you.
